How Canvas works

Open a picture (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP or SVG), paste one with Ctrl+V, or start a blank canvas from a preset — square, HD landscape, portrait, a 2048 texture, a 512 icon or tile, or a 128 sprite. Work in layers with a brush, an eraser, a fill (connected area or every similar colour), text with an outline, a crop to a free or fixed aspect ratio, and a colour picker; a pen's pressure changes the brush size.

Download a PNG with the export settings in the panel, or send the result to Image Studio, Pixel Snap or Chroma & Cutout. Everything stays on this device, and it works with touch on a phone — though a mouse or pen gives you far more control.

Questions

Does Canvas support layers?

Yes. Every tool works on the active layer, text is placed as a new layer, and the Move tool shifts a layer's pixels.

Which keyboard shortcuts does it have?

V move, B brush, E eraser, G fill, T text, C crop, I colour picker, H or hold Space to pan, [ and ] change the brush size, and Ctrl+0 fits the view.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Opening, editing and exporting all happen in your browser.
