How the Slicer works

Drop or paste an image — an AI icon grid, a sprite sheet, a tileset or artwork, as PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or BMP — and cut it into regions three ways. Grid makes even cells from columns, rows, spacing and margin. Draw lets you drag regions by hand, snapping to image borders, content edges and other regions. Auto finds every connected island of non-background pixels, which suits AI-generated icon sheets with uneven gaps.

Name the regions with a pattern, put them in reading order, trim transparent edges, and export a zip of PNGs with JSON — a region list or an atlas-frames hash for game engines — or send a region to Pixel Snap, Chroma & Cutout, Canvas, Tileset Forge or Material Forge. Everything stays on this device.

Questions

How do I split an AI icon sheet with uneven spacing?

Use Auto: choose what counts as background (transparency, or a flat colour you pick from the image), set a tolerance and a minimum size, and Detect regions boxes every icon.

Can I fine-tune a region?

Yes. Drag it to move it, pull its handles to resize, nudge it with the arrow keys (Shift for 10 px), and press Delete to remove it.

What are the files called?

Whatever your name pattern produces — region names become the file names, with tokens for the number, row, column and size.
