photo, scan or generated tile — PNG, JPEG or WebP
It runs fine on a phone, but tuning five maps while watching a 3D preview is far more comfortable on a laptop or desktop.

Drop a photo or texture (PNG, JPEG or WebP) and Material Forge derives a full PBR set on your device: height from brightness, then normal, roughness, ambient occlusion and an optional metallic mask from the height. Sliders update a lit preview live — sphere, cube or plane, with tiling, displacement and a turntable — at a working resolution from 512 to 4096 px.
Export a zip with every map as PNG, a material.json manifest and setup notes for the major engines, with the normal map in OpenGL (+Y up: Blender, Godot, Unity) or DirectX (−Y up: Unreal) convention. No texture yet? Image Studio can generate a seamless one for credits; bringing it back here is free.
They are derived from brightness, which suits rough natural surfaces — stone, wood, bark, fabric. Leave Metallic off (the default) for anything that is not metal, and tune strength and radius with the sliders while you watch the preview.
OpenGL (+Y up) for Blender, Godot and Unity; DirectX (−Y up) for Unreal Engine. The wrong one makes bumps look lit from the wrong side.
Keep Wrap edges on for seamless tiles. If the photo itself is not tileable, fix its seams in Tileset Forge first.
